This morning I ticked off ‘Do a 5k Parkrun in a time of 22 minutes something’ from my 2016 to-do list. And I’m really chuffed.
I clocked a time of 22:53, the fastest time I’ve run Hillsborough Parkrun in over 18 months (but still over a minute slower than my course PB).
My running mojo has returned over the past month. I’ve missed running and it’s a good feeling to feel like something is returning in my legs. I’ve still got a long way to go for fitness, but the times are coming down as I shift a bit of timber.
I’d been an inactive member of Steel City Striders, but have been joining the Wednesday night group for 8-9 mile training runs. These have helped immensely and I’m looking forward to wearing their jersey in a few races at the back end of the year.
