Real-world projects with meaningful impact
From shaping national education services to redesigning airport websites, I’ve worked on 50+ projects across the public and private sectors. Each one challenged me in new ways, sharpened how I think about delivery, and made a difference to the people it was designed for.

Making pupil data easier to find and use
Client: Department for Education
Role: Delivery Manager (Discovery → Alpha → Private Beta)I led the delivery of a GOV.UK service helping researchers access data from the National Pupil Database, one of the UK’s most sensitive education datasets.
It’s used to understand things like attainment, absence, exclusions and SEND, but finding the right data used to be hard. We worked closely with researchers and policy teams to design a simpler, clearer way to explore what’s available.
This was my first UK government project. The service met the service standard at its service assessments and is now a trusted tool for data access.

Redesigning the digital experience for London Luton Airport
Client: London Luton Airport
Role: Delivery LeadLondon Luton Airport is the UK’s fifth busiest, serving over 11 million passengers a year. I helped lead a major digital redesign of their online presence, refreshing the strategy, structure and user journeys behind their main website.
The focus was on making things clearer and faster for people travelling through the airport, from flight updates to parking to accessibility.
A solid, user-focused project with a great client and lots of moving parts.

Understanding how the NHS is building data and analytics capability
Client: NHS England
Role: Delivery LeadThis was an 8-week discovery looking at how data and analytics careers are supported across NHS England.
We interviewed experienced leaders and new starters across the country, exploring how they got into the field, what they need to succeed, and where the current system is falling short.
I led a small team of researchers and strategists. The work helped NHS partners shape future capability-building across digital and data roles.

Helping the University of Salford improve student experience
Client: University of Salford
Role: Delivery, Research, StrategyWorking with the Business School, we explored what the first-year experience feels like for new students; what’s working, what’s not, and how things could be better.
We used a mix of interviews and co-design workshops to bring staff and students together, building shared understanding and practical ideas.
The findings led directly to some quick wins for student services, and informed wider thinking about welcome, belonging and support.

Field research in India’s water pump sector
Client: Taro Pumps
Role: Delivery, Research, StrategyTaro Pumps is a leading Indian manufacturer exploring how digital tools could support their sales and service teams and ultimately, end users in the field.
We kicked off in Coimbatore (home of their factory) then travelled to Hyderabad, Pune and Delhi, interviewing over 30 people in 8 days: factory staff, engineers, regional sales teams and farmers.
A dusty, hot, brilliant project that mixed user research, logistics, and strategy and proved how much you can learn when you meet people where they are.

Helping improve teacher retention in the UK
Client: Department for Education
Role: Delivery, Research (Discovery → Alpha)I supported a 6-week discovery to explore how teacher candidates find school placements, a crucial step in tackling the UK’s teacher retention challenge. Officially I was the user researcher, but in practice I also took on the delivery manager role.
We planned and ran research at pace across the UK, speaking to aspiring teachers and schools offering placements. The insights helped DfE understand the friction in the current system and where support could make a real difference.
A fast, focused project that passed its GDS service assessment and wrapped with a dash from Exeter to London to present the work in person.
