Helping people and teams bring a calm approach to project delivery

A calm, thoughtful way of supporting delivery that works in the real world

This page isn’t about what I’m offering right now — it’s a reflection of how I’ve worked over the years, what I’ve learned, and the kind of delivery approach I try to bring to teams. Whether I’m part of an organisation or supporting from the outside, I care about delivery that’s clear, human, and grounded.

What I do

Over the past 20 years, I’ve worked across a wide range of organisations to help teams deliver complex work clearly, confidently, and with less chaos.

In 2016 I co-founded and have co-led Paper, a user research and service design agency, where I’m Delivery Director. Before that, I worked in project delivery roles across sectors, from public service redesign to product launches and organisational change.

What I bring is less about rigid frameworks and more about practical, human delivery: supporting teams to find clarity, deal with uncertainty, and move things forward in the real world.

My experience

  • Leading 50+ projects and services across public and private sectors

  • Supporting founders, directors and leadership teams to shape delivery strategy

  • Mentoring and coaching delivery managers and project leads

  • Designing and scaling delivery functions as organisations grow

  • Running discovery, alpha, beta and live phases in complex environments

  • Helping teams work through delivery challenges with less stress and more focus

How I work

While I’ve taken on many delivery leadership roles, I’ve also supported organisations in more flexible ways — acting as an advisor, coach, or someone to quietly help teams unblock and move forward.

Often, this has meant:

  • Being a regular sounding board for teams or leaders

  • Helping set up delivery approaches that are people-friendly and sustainable

  • Bringing calm direction to fast-moving or messy projects

  • Creating space for teams to think clearly and work well together

These days

I continue to care deeply about good delivery, and the environments that support it. I still speak, write and collaborate on the topic when it’s useful.

I believe that sharing practical knowledge and mentoring the next generation is vital to building strong, confident teams and creating a more accessible career path for others. Over the past few years, I’ve loved inspiring the next generation of project and delivery managers.

I fell into this job — most of us do — and I’d like to help change that.

I’ve worked with over 750 students across primary, secondary, and specialist schools and colleges, delivering interactive talks and hands-on challenges.

If you’re interested in what I’ve done, or thinking about how good delivery can support your team, I’m always happy to chat.
